About Us
The Schools Division Office I (SDO I) Pangasinan is situated at Alvear St., Capitol Complex, Lingayen, Pangasinan, covering a land area of 2,771 square meters. Before the formal separation initiated by the Regional and Central Offices, the Provincial Superintendent, as the head of the division, oversaw the administration of schools across the province, including those in Alaminos, Dagupan, Urdaneta, and San Carlos. The office was responsible for managing school facilities in each municipality, formulating plans for the establishment of schools, recommending teachers, and handling other essential administrative functions.

In response to the increasing student population, a significant expansion of school facilities commenced under the leadership of Governor Perfecto Sison. Notably, the division office was located just a short distance from the province's first secondary school, the Pangasinan Provincial High School, now known as Pangasinan National High School.

The Schools Division Office of Pangasinan was officially divided into two through an Office Order issued by then-Regional Director Gloria Z. Lasam and approved by Secretary Isidro Cariño of the Department of Education, Culture, and Sports (DECS). This division was also reinforced by Resolution No. 5, series of 1991, from the Provincial Development Council of Pangasinan. The newly established division, known as Schools Division I Pangasinan, encompassed 26 municipalities and two cities—Alaminos and Urdaneta. Primo A. Mina served as its Provincial Superintendent from 1991 to 1994, with Romana O. Fabregas as the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent (ASDS).
